The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 162 points at 10,805. The index slipped to a low of 10,719 in early trades on the back of significant weakness in Infosys.
The index, however, recovered and touched a high of 10,895, and is now down 81 points at 10,886.
Tata Motors has rallied over 4% to Rs 263. ACC has surged over 3% to Rs 610.
SBI and Grasim have rallied around 2% each to Rs 1,246 and Rs 1,600, respectively.
Ranbaxy has moved up 1.5% to Rs 191. Hindustan Unilever, Maruti, Larsen & Toubro and DLF are up around 1% each.
Sterlite has slumped 5% to Rs 404.
Infosys has plunged over 4% to Rs 1,350. TCS has shed 3.7% at Rs 570, and Wipro has dropped 3% to Rs 261.
NTPC has declined 1.5% to Rs 189. HDFC, HDFC Bank and Reliance are down over 1% each at Rs 1,666, Rs 1,084 and Rs 1,749, respectively.
