Sensex opens 170 points lower; Ranbaxy down 4.8%

ACC is up 1.2% to Rs 651, Hindalco has advanced 1% to Rs 176. Ambuja Cements and Tata Steel are up 0.8% and 0.5% each.

Ranbaxy has lost 4.8% to Rs 566.50, Maruti is down 3.1% to Rs 736, Bhel has declined 2.3% to Rs 1,451. L&T is down 2.2% to Rs 2,682 and ICICI Bank has fallen 2% to Rs 763.
