The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 290 points 10,818, and soon rallied to a high of 11,024 in early mornind trades. The index has now pared some of its gains and is up 381 points at 10,909.
ICICI Bank has zoomed 16% to Rs 423 after several clarifications that there is nothing wrong with the bank.
Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have soared 6% each to Rs 86 and Rs 492, respectively. SBI has surged 5.5% to Rs 1,428.
Tata Motors and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied nearly 5% each to Rs 305 and Rs 539, respectively.
Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank have advanced 4.3% each to Rs 721 and Rs 1,091, respectively.
Tata Steel, Reliance Communications and Jaiprakash Associates have added 3.5% each to Rs 298, Rs 246 and Rs 79, respectively.
DLF, ONGC and ITC have moved up 3% each to Rs 290, Rs 943 and Rs 169, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Unilever are up 2.5% each at Rs 911 and Rs 228, respectively.
HDFC, however, has slipped into the negative zone and is down 2.3% at Rs 1,680.
