Sensex range-bound; Hindalco, Tata Steel firm

The Sensex continues to move in the same day's range, and is now up 152 points at 9,842.

The Sensex opened 132 points higher at 9,822, and rallied to a high of 9,948 in morning trades. The index, thereafter, pared gains and slipped to a low of 9,749. The index is now up 143 points at 9,833.

Grasim has zoomed 7.5% to Rs 1,154. Hindalco and Tata Steel have soared around 7% each to Rs 57 and Rs 233, respectively.

Sterlite has surged 5% to Rs 308. ONGC has surged 3.8% to Rs 671.

Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced 3.5% each to Rs 815 and Rs 303, respectively.

HDFC Bank, DLF and SBI are up around 3% each at Rs 948, Rs 285 and Rs 1,250, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped over 2% to Rs 244.

HDFC has shed 1.5% at Rs 1,612, and Infosys is down 1.3% at Rs 1,093.
