Sensex rebounds, up 35pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex recovered from a low of 8,697, and has now rebounded into green. The index is now up 35 points at 8,792. Earlier in the day, the index opened 37 points higher at 8,793, and touched a high of 8,828.

Mahindra & Mahindra has soared 6% to Rs 365. Jaiprakash Associates has surged 5.5% to Rs 75.

Ranbaxy and SBI have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 142 and Rs 980, respectively.

Tata Motors and Bharti Airtel have gained over 2% each at Rs 165 and Rs 571, respectively.

ACC and DLF are up over 1% each at Rs 569 and Rs 154, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has slumped over 3% to Rs 451. Sun Pharma and Maruti have tumbled around 2.5% each to Rs 996 and Rs 696, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Infosys and Hindalco have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 145, Rs 1,276 and Rs 42, respectively.

HDFC and ONGC are down 1% each at Rs 1,365 and Rs 699, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,227 stocks traded so far, 1,227 have advanced, 917 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
