The Sensex opened 42 points lower at 15,032. The index dipped to a low of 14,993, and soon rebounded into the positive zone. The index is now up 75 points at 15,149.
The NSE Nifty is up 16 16 points at 4,534.
HDFC has soared over 3% to Rs 2,473. HDFC Bank has moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,238.
Tata Steel, Sterlite, Satyam and Maruti have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 656, Rs 597, Rs 413 and Rs 662, respectively.
Infosys, ICICI Bank and Reliance Infrastrucutre are up 1.3% each at Rs 1,722, Rs 716 and Rs 1,023, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has shed 2.7% at Rs 846. Mahindra & Mahindra is down 1% at Rs 556.
