Sensex recovers partially, down 157pts

The Sensex opened with a negative gap of 207 points at 9,084, slipped to a low of 8,958, and has since recovered and is now down 157 points at 9,134.

ACC has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 420. Wipro, ICICI Bank and Grasim have slumped around 3.5% each to Rs 243, Rs 373 and Rs 985, respectively.

Reliance nfrastructure, Satyam and Tata Power have tumbled around 3% each to Rs 469, Rs 244 and Rs 703, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has dropped 2.8% to Rs 310. SBI and HDFC have shed 2.5% each at Rs 1,139 and Rs 1,462, respectively.

TCS, Sterlite and Hindalco are down 2% each at Rs 508, Rs 223 and Rs 54, respectively.
