Sensex recovers partially, down 77pts

The Sensex has recovered partially from the day's low of is now down 77 points at 8,825.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have tumbled 4% each to Rs 586 and Rs 165, respectively. ICICI Bank has slumped 3.6% to Rs 326.

BHEL has shed 3% at Rs 1,369. Ranbaxy and Maruti have plunged over 2% each to Rs 143 and Rs 715, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has dropped 1.7% to Rs 562. DLF and SBI have declined 1.5% each to Rs 171 and Rs 954, respectively.

ACC, Reliance Infrastructure and Wipro are down over 1% each at Rs 539, Rs 479 and Rs 230, respectively.

Hindalco has soared nearly 5% to Rs 47. Tata Power has rallied over 2% to Rs 677.

ONGC, Tata Steel and Sterlite have gained 1% each at Rs 739, Rs 175 and Rs 318, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,429 stocks traded so far, 1,253 have declined, 1,067 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
