Sensex slips after positive start; ITC slumps 6%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 72 points at 14,359. The index has slipped into the negative zone and is now down 52 points at 14,235.

The NSE Nifty is up a point points at 4,314.

Wipro has rallied 2% to Rs 431. Mahindra & Mahindra and Sterlite have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 521 and Rs 631, respectively.

Tata Steel has gained 1.3% at Rs 638. DLF and Tata Power are up 1% each at Rs 496 and Rs 1,127, respectively.

ITC has plunged 5.8% to Rs 177. Tata Motors has shed 2.5% at Rs 406.

SBI and ACC have slipped over 1% each to Rs 1,370 and Rs 584, respectively.
