The Sensex after touching a high of 15,184, has slipped back into the negative zone and is now down 23 points at 15,051.
The NSE Nifty is down 10 points at 4,508.
HDFC and Tata Motors have rallied over 2% each to Rs 2,444 and Rs 436, respectively.
Satyam, Sterlite and ONGC have gained 1.5% each at Rs 413, Rs 596 and Rs 1,030, respectively.
Infosys and Tata Steel are up over 1% each at Rs 1,720 and Rs 653, respectively.
ACC has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 613. Bharti Airtel has dropped over 3% to Rs 842.
BHEL has shed 2.3% at Rs 1,785. Jaiprakash Associates has slipped 2% to Rs 181, and Reliance Communications has declined 1.6% to Rs 439.
