Sensex slips again, down 244pts; breadth fairly -ve

The Sensex after recovering partially and touching a high of 9,169, has slipped back to lower levels and is now down 244 points at 9,047.

ICICI Bank and HDFC have slumped around 5% each to Rs 367 and Rs 1,424, respectively.

Wipro has tumbled nearly 5% to Rs 240. SBI and Reliance Infrastructure have plunged around 4.5% each to Rs 1,114 and Rs 463, respectively.

ACC, Satyam and Tata Power have dropped around 4% each to Rs 418, Rs 242 and Rs 696, respectively.

Sterlite has shed 3.8% at Rs 219. Mahindra & Mahindra and Grasim have slipped 3.5% each to Rs 308 and Rs 985, respectively.

TCS has dropped over 3% to Rs 502. Hindalco, Infosys and HDFC Bank are down around 2.5% each at Rs 53, Rs 1,201 and Rs 911, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 1,989 stocks traded so far, 1,386 have declined, 529 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
