The Sensex has slipped into red after touching a high of 14,648. The index touched is at the day's low of 14,406-down 88 points.
Hindalco has slumped 4% to Rs 83. ACC and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 750 and Rs 200, respectively.
Tata Steel, ONGC and NTPC have slipped over 1% each to Rs 384, Rs 1,049 and Rs 193, respectively.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors has gained 2% at Rs 297. Hindustan Unilever has added 1.5% to Rs 271.
Sun Pharma, HDFC, Sterlite and Mahindra & Mahindra are also up marginally.
The market breadth is negative. Out of 2,076 stocks traded, 1,171 have declined while 832 have advanced.
