Sensex slips into red; ONGC gains 2%

The NSE Nifty is down 12 points at 4,492.

ONGC has surged over 2% to Rs 873.

Satyam, HDFC and Ambuja Cements have gained around 1% each at Rs 477, Rs 2,260 and Rs 90, respectively.

Maruti, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance are the notable losers.
