Sensex steady; breadth fairly +ve

The Sensex is displaying steady movement and is now down 95 points at 9,540.

DLF has surged 3.5% to Rs 166. Tata Motors has moved up 2.8% to Rs 142.

Mahindra & Mahindra has rallied over 2% to Rs 328. Grasim has added 1.7% to Rs 1,390.

Maruti and Jaiprakash Associates are up nearly 1.5% each at Rs 639 and Rs 77, respectively.

Sterlite and HDFC Bank have plunged around 2.5% each to Rs 268 and Rs 922, respectively.

SBI has shed 2% at Rs 1,170. Bharti Airtel has dropped 1.7% to Rs 641.

Ranbaxy has slipped 1.5% to Rs 209. ACC, ICICI Bank and BHEL have declined 1.3% each to Rs 570, Rs 429 and Rs 1,449, respectively.

ITC, Tata Power and ONGC are down over 1% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 1,846 stocks traded so far, 1,051 have advanced, 723 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
