Sensex steady in morning trades; Satyam, Bharti weak

The Sensex after opening with a positive gap of 152 points at 10,110, has moved in a narrow range of 61-odd points - from a high of 10,130, and a low of 10,069. The index is now up 159 points at 10,117.

Jaiprakash Associates and Hindalco have soared 5% each to Rs 92 and Rs 59, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Tata Power have rallied over 4% each to Rs 491 and Rs 802, respectively.

Sterlite has surged 3.8% to Rs 285. Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel, Reliance Communications and Tata Motors have gained over 3% each at Rs 651, Rs 237, Rs 258 and Rs 181, respectively.

Wipro has moved up 2.7% to Rs 249. SBI, Reliance and Infosys have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 1,363, Rs 1,315 and Rs 1,158, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Satyam have shed 3.5% each at Rs 680 and Rs 172, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever is down over 1% at Rs 245.
