Sensex still in red; Sun Pharma down 4%

The Sensex has erased some of its losses and is now at 17,158, down 75 points.

The NSE Nifty is now at 5,097, down 20 points.

Sun Pharma has dropped 3.5% to Rs 1,358. Reliance Infrastructure has slipped 3% to Rs 1,285. ITC, TCS, Hindustan Unilever and Infosys have shed over 2% each.

NTPC, Tata Power and SBI have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 217, Rs 1,365 and Rs 2,302, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally negative, out of 2,743 shares traded, 1,356 declined and 1,295 advanced so far on the BSE.

The IT and the FMCG indices have slipped 2% each to 4,350 and 2,774, respectively.
