Sensex up 100pts; Ranbaxy slips 3%

The Sensex is now up 106 points at 8,928.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has zoomed 8.5% to Rs 320. Tata Motors has soared nearly 5% to Rs 139, and Reliance Infrastructure have surged 4.3% to Rs 510.

Hindalco has gained 3.3% at Rs 40. Maruti has advanced 3% to Rs 662.

Tata Steel, Infosys and Wipro have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 165, Rs 1,215 and Rs 218, respectively.

ONGC and Sun Pharma are up 2.3% each at Rs 697 and Rs 1,025, respectively.

Ranbaxy has shed 2.7% at Rs 209. Larsen & Toubro and HDFC have declined over 1% each to Rs 618 and Rs 1,274, respectively.

Out of 2,431 stocks traded so far, 1,293 have advanced, 1,043 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
