Sensex up 131pts in early trades

The Sensex opened 65 points higher at 9,633, and is now up 131 points at 9,699.

Tata Steel has surged 3.5% to Rs 203. Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Power have rallied around 3% each to Rs 81 and Rs 785, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and HDFC have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 515 and Rs 1,485, respectively.

BHEL, Ranbaxy and TCS have advanced over 2% each to Rs 1,506, Rs 162 and Rs 534, respectively.

Reliance, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have also added nearly 2% each to Rs 1,544, Rs 663 and Rs 175, respectively.

Sterlite however has slipped 1% to Rs 347.
