The Sensex is now up 140 points at 9,874.
Hindalco has surged 3.7% to Rs 59. NTPC and Reliance Infrastructure have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 149 and Rs 523, respectively.
Reliance has advanced over 3% to Rs 1,209. Wipro has moved up nearly 3% to Rs 260.
ACC, TCS, Reliance Communications and ITC have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 477, Rs 513, Rs 222 and Rs 173, respectively.
ONGC has added 2% to Rs 760. Sterlite and HDFC are the other major gainers.
ICICI Bank has shed 2.7% at Rs 422. Mahindra & Mahindra is down over 1% at Rs 375.
