The Sensex is now up 265 points at 10,488.
Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed over 12% to Rs 76. Reliance Communications has soared over 7% to Rs 249.
Satyam has surged 6.7% to Rs 308, and Reliance Infrastructure has rallied 5.7% to Rs 509.
ICICI Bank has moved up 5.4% to Rs 433. TCS, Infosys, Tata Power and Reliance have gained 5% each at Rs 522, Rs 1,362, Rs 756 and Rs 1,385, respectively.
Sterlite, Tata Steel and Hindustan Unilever are up around 4% each at Rs 284, Rs 263 and Rs 249, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra has plunged over 4% to Rs 400. Hindalco has shed 3.7% at Rs 63.
ONGC has dropped 2.5% to Rs 760, and Bharti Airtel has slipped 2% to Rs 694.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,407 stocks traded so far, 1,447 have advanced, 882 have declined and 78 are unchanged.
