Sensex up 38pts; DLF rallies 4.5%

The Sensex is now up 38 points at 11,017.

Earlier in the day, the Sensex opened in the red and reached a low of 10,764. It thereafter recovered and rallied to a high of 11,068 - up ... points from the day's low.

Bharti Airtel has rallied nearly 6% to Rs 727. DLF has surged 4.5% to Rs 241.

Sun Pharma, ITC, Hindalco, ONGC, HDFC Bank and Wipro have added 2-4% each.

On the other hand, Tata Motors and Tata steel have shed 5% each to Rs 234 and Rs 251, respectively.

ICICI Bank has declined 4% to Rs 410. Sterlite, Reliance Infrastructure, Maruti Suzuki and SBI have slipped 2-3% each.

The market breadth is marginally negative. Out of 2,486 stocks traded, 1,218 have declined while 1,180 have advanced.
