Sensex up 447pts in early trades; HDFC Bank zooms 9%

After opening with a positive gap of 303 points the Sensex continues to surge to higher levels this morning. The index is now up 447 points at 15,408.

The NSE Nifty is up 102 points at 4,605.

HDFC Bank has zoomed 9% to Rs 1,292, and ICICI Bank has soared 7.5% to Rs 745.

Maruti has rallied nearly 8% to Rs 663. Tata Motors has gained 5.5% at Rs 432, and Mahindra & Mahindra has added 4% to Rs 570.

BHEL has moved up 5% to Rs 1,859. HDFC has advanced 4.4% to Rs 2,574.

Jaiprakash Associates and DLF are up around 3.5% each at Rs 191 and Rs 572, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and SBI have gained over 3% each at Rs 1,076 and Rs 1,627, respectively.

ACC, Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro and Hindustan Unilever are the other major gainers.
