Sensex up 57pts; Grasim surges 7%

The Sensex has slipped from the day's high and is now up 57 points at 15,066.

Grasim has surged 7% to Rs 2,528. BHEL has rallied 5% to Rs 2,285. Tata Motors has gained 4.5% at Rs 386.

Infosys, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Power have added 4% each to Rs 1,694, Rs 1,512 and Rs 1,081, respectively.

Hindalco, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma, ACC, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Sterlite, TCS, Ranbaxy, Hindustan Unilever and Maruti Suzuki have moved up 1-3% each.

Meanwhile, ITC has slumped 6% to Rs 190. Reliance Infrastructure has shed 4% to Rs 1,225.

SBI and Reliance have declined 2% each to Rs 1,820 and Rs 2,210, respectively. Tata Steel, DLF and NTPC have slipped 1% each.

The market breadth is marginally positive. Out of 2,877 stocks traded, 1,574 advanced while 1,257 declined.
