After a flat close on the Sensex yesterday, the index today opened 105 points higher at 13,803 on the back of smart gains in IT stocks. The index is now at 13,819, up 62 points.
Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped around 2% to Rs 710. Bharti Airtel is down 1% at Rs 791.
Wipro has advanced 5% to Rs 389. Sterlite has added 3% to Rs 575. DLF and Grasim are up around 2% each at Rs 285 and Rs 2,462, respectively.
Infosys has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,704 after the company has posted a 17.3% increase in net profit to Rs 1,527 crore for the first quarter of current fiscal as compared to Rs 1,302 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
