The Sensex opened at 17,107 tracking subdued global cues, however the index rebounded into the positive zone to touch a high of 17,153. The Index lost soon lost its ground and slipped into the red to a low of 17,072.
The Sensex is now at 17,081, down 44 points.

HDFC Bank is the major loser so far on the Sensex, down 1% at Rs 1,783. Sterlite and Hindustan Unilever have declined over 0.5% each at Rs 829 and Rs 274, respectively.
Maruti and Hindalco advanced 1% each at Rs 1,622 and Rs 142, respectively.
Tata Steel, ACC and Reliance Infrastructure have advanced around 0.5% each at Rs 550, Rs 818 and Rs 1,059, respectively
