Silver prices fell by 0.44% to Rs 44,010 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak trend in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded by Rs 193, or 0.44%, to Rs 44,010 per kg in business turnover of 431 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 183, or 0.41%, to Rs 44,997 per kg in business volume of 11 lots.
Market analysts said a subdued trend in precious metals in the global markets as an improving economy cut demand for wealth protection, led to fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
