Silver futures up 0.2% on firm global cues
Speculators build fresh positions amid firm trend overseas
Press Trust of India New Delhi Silver prices went up by Rs 70 to trade at Rs 36,990 per kg in futures trading today as participants built fresh bets amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.
In futures trading, silver for delivery in December was up by Rs 70, or 0.19%, at Rs 36,990 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange, in a business turnover of 200 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month March 2016 gained Rs 45, or 0.12%, to Rs 37,680 per kg in three lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by speculators in step with a firm trend in global markets influenced silver prices in futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was up 0.25% to $15.88 an ounce in Singapore today.
