Sugar prices softened by Rs 50 per quintal in the national capital today on withdrawal of support at higher levels amid ample supply.
Marketmen said pick up in arrivals from mills on higher levels mainly created large stocks position in market, this caused the fall in sugar prices.
Sugar ready medium and second grade prices dropped from Rs 2,750-2,900 and Rs 2,740-2,890 to settle at Rs 2,750-2,850 and Rs 2,740-2,840 per quintal.
Mill delivery medium and second grade price also dipped from Rs 2,630-2,750 and Rs.2620-2740 to Rs 2,630-2,700 and Rs 2,620-2,690 per quintal.
