Sugar marginally up 0.07% on firm spot demand

Sugar for delivery in July traded higher by 0.03%

Sugar traded a shade higher by 0.07% to Rs 3,078 per quintal in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions after an improvement in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in August rose by Rs 2, or 0.07%, to Rs 3,078 per quintal, with an open interest of 23,460 lots.

Similarly, sugar for delivery in July traded higher by Re 1, or 0.03%, to Rs 3,025 per quintal in 23,990 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators following an improvement in demand in the spot market mainly influenced sugar to trade marginally higher at futures trade.
