Tata Motors is trading lower by 1.4% at Rs 790 after the company reported a 6% decline in global sales to 85,392 units.
"Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were flat at 19,119 vehicles in July, Tata Motors said in a statement. While sales of luxury sedans of Jaguar brand were down 23% last month to 4,372 units, Land Rover sales were up by 8% at 14,747 units," the company said in a press release.
"The total passenger vehicles sales stood at 38,154 units in July 2011, down 24% from the corresponding period last year. However, commercial vehicle sales were up by 16% to 47,238 units from the same month last year," the release added.
Earlier in the day, the stock registered a fresh 52-week low price of Rs 780 before recovering some lost ground. A combined 61,000 shares have changed hands till 1015 hours.
