Shares of Techno Electrical surged over 10% after the company reported over 31% year-on-year jump in standalone net profit at Rs 45 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 325.40, up 10.60% on the BSE.

A total of 42,000 lakh shares changed hands on the counter on BSE, compared with a two-week daily average of 4,417 lakh shares. 

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

On a standalone basis, total income rose 45 per cent to Rs 309.55 crore in the quarter under review, up from Rs 238.30 crore during the same period in 2015-16.
