Telecom industry gains; Tulip Tele surges 11%

MTNL gained 4% at Rs 116. Bharti Airtel settled 2% higher at Rs 855.

Spice Communications rallied 8% to Rs 75. Tulip Telecom soared 11% to Rs 775. Idea Cellular advanced 5% to Rs 87 and Tata Communications surged 10% to Rs 537.

The telecommunication sector has turned out to be the major gainer today even as the market traded in red for the first half of the trading day.

Spice Communications and Tulip Telecom have soared 14% each to Rs 79.65 and Rs 795, respectively.

Idea Cellular has surged 8% to Rs 90. Tata Communications has rallied 6% to Rs 518.

However, MTNL has added 1.5% to Rs 113.
