Graphite India, Himachal Futuristic Communications (HFCL), Centrum Capital, Apex Frozen Foods and Liberty Shoes are among 19 stocks that beat the Sensex after institutional investors, mutual funds and high networth individuals (HNIs) bought shares.
V-Mart Retail, Aarvee Denims, Poddar Housing and Development, BLS International, GPT Infraprojects and Manappuram Finance too outperformed the benchmark index. Post acquisition of shares, these 20 stocks rallied up to 86% against just 4% surge on Sensex during the same period, data compiled by Business Standard Research Bureau showed.
Graphite India hit a new high of Rs 387 today in intra-day trade, nearly doubling the return in just two months after Morgan Stanley bought stake in the company through open market.
On July 20, 2017, Morgan Stanley (France) S.A. had purchased 1.2 million shares of Graphite India at Rs 196.39 per share on NSE, the bulk deal data shows.
Apex Frozen Foods was up 3% at Rs 333 rallying 58% since its listing on September 4, after institutional investor buying.
Girik Wealth Advisors Private Ltd PMS had bought 311,077 shares of Apex Frozen Foods at Rs 211.91 per share. Tantallon India Fund purchased 180,825 shares at Rs 210.78 per share on September 4, the NSE bulk deal data shows.
BNP Paribas Arbitrage sold 200,000 shares of Apex Frozen Foods at Rs 211.95 per share. The names of the other sellers were not ascertained immediately.
Centrum Capital locked in upper circuit of 5% at Rs 80.60, too zoomed 58% after ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund bought the stake in the company. On August 9, ICICI Mutual Fund had purchased 2.1 million shares of Centrum Capital at Rs 51 per share.
