Turmeric climbs over 3% on spot demand

Prices went up as speculators created fresh positions

Turmeric futures for April climbed by Rs 198, or 3.23 per cent, to Rs 6,330 per quintal in 27,300 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the May traded higher by Rs 200, or 3.20%, to Rs 6,448 per quintal in 9,115 lots.

Prices went up as speculators created fresh positions, driven by an improvement in spot market demand amid lower output expectations.
