Turmeric prices declined by Rs 46 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 14,268 per quintal in futures trade today on profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in August contract fell by Rs 46, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 14,268 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,590 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July contract lost Rs 36, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 14,440 per quintal, with a trading volume of 9,420 lots.

Market analysts said profit taking by speculators at existing higher levels led to a fall in turmeric prices at futures market here.
