U K Sinha takes over as AMFI Chairman

UTI Asset Management Company Chairman and MD U K Sinha has been appointed as the Chairman of AMFI, an industry association of the mutual funds.

The board of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has elected Sinha as the Chairman and HDFC MF Managing Director Milind Barve as the Vice-Chairman of AMFI.

Both Sinha and Barve would hold office till the next Annual General Meeting.

Sinha takes over the reigns from A P Kurian, who held the post since the formation of AMFI in 1995.

In February, AMFI had appointed H N Sinor as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Sinor in his long career in the banking industry has occupied several key posts, including that of  managing director and CEO of ICICI Bank and CEO of Indian Banks' Association.
