Upmove continues; NTPC, Bharti surges 4%

The Sensex opened 79 points higher at 9,126. The index touched a high of 9,250, and is now up 186 points at 9,232.

Reliance Communications has soared over 5% to Rs 183. Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance have surged nearly 4.5% each to Rs 181, Rs 1,190 and Rs 524, respectively.

NTPC and Bharti Airtel have rallied over 4% each to Rs 174 and Rs 629, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Jaiprakash Associates and Ranbaxy have moved up over 3% each to Rs 728, Rs 67 and Rs 223, respectively.

Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, Tata Power and Hindalco have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 1,132, Rs 419, Rs 755 and Rs 49, respectively.

SBI has advanced 2.3% to Rs 1,173. Sterlite, ONGC and BHEL are up around 2% each at Rs 259, Rs 637 and Rs 1,379, respectively.

DLF has plunged 3% to Rs 196. Wipro has slipped 1.4% to Rs 232, and Maruti is down 1% at Rs 584.
