The Sensex continues to extend gains, and is now up 292 points at 9,593.
Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed over 9% to Rs 75. Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastructure have soared over 7% each to Rs 580 and Rs 200, respectively.
HDFC has rallied nearly 6% to Rs 1,495. ONGC and Sterlite have flared up over 5% each to Rs 717 and Rs 279, respectively.
Hindalco and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 5% each to Rs 46 and Rs 670, respectively.
ICICI Bank and Tata Motors have advanced 4.5% each to Rs 425 and Rs 144, respectively.
Tata Power has gained 4% at Rs 783. Bharti Airtel, Reliance and Reliance Communications are up over 3% each at Rs 669, Rs 1,386 and Rs 168, respectively.
The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,467 stocks traded so far, 1,514 have advanced, 865 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
