US stocks gained marginally on Tuesday, on the back of better-than expected corporate profits which overshadowed concerns about weak consumer demand.
The Dow Jones industrial average added 28 points (0.33%) to 8,359.49. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained five points (0.53%) to 906. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose six points (0.36%) to 1,799.73.
The Indian ADRs ended on a positive note. Genpact added 1.5% to $11.85.
ICICI Bank advanced 3.5% to $28.25 on the other hand HDFC Bank slipped 2% to $91.95.
MTNL dropped 1.3% to $3.65 and Wipro was flat at $11.27.
Tata Communications increased 1.5% to $18.82 and Sterlite was up 2% at $12.15.
