US markets were significantly up on Friday, helped largely by reassuring job data and optimistic results of stress test. Rise in banking stocks confirmed that the worst is over for the sector.
The Dow advanced 165 points (2%) to 8,575. The Nasdaq was up 23 points (1.5%) to 1,739.
Indian ADRs also ended up.
MTNL and ICICI Bank surged 5% each to $2.91 and $22.45, respectively.
Patni Computers, Tata Motors and HDFC Bank gained 3.5% each at $7.88, $7.84 and $80.18, respectively. Sterlite advanced 3% to $10.32.
Wipro and Dr Reddy's added 2% each to $10.42 and $11.55.
However, Genpact plunged 5% to $10.30.
