US markets end +ve; Mahindra Satyam ADR plunges 8%

US markets advanced on Thursday after quarterly results from insurer Travelers and regional bank PNC Financial gave a boost to financial stocks.

The Dow Jones industrial average gained 132 points (1.33%) to 10,081. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 15 points (0.68%) to 2,165.29.

The Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Mahindra Satyam plunged 8% to $5.68. Tata Motors slipped around 3% to $11.7 and Wipro was down 1.5% at $18.75, respectively.

On the other hand Patni Computers advanced 2% to $19.25 and HDFC Bank was up 1.5% at $119.94, respectively.
