Vinyl sulphone (VS), a chemical commodity which was a the basic intermediate required for the manufacturing of dyes and dyes intermediates, was facing the problem of low capacity utilisation across the industry.
India was one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of VS in the last fiscal. The intermediate finds use as a compound for manufacturing various types of colours and dyes. India is the largest maker of the product and only a few hundred tons of capacity in Korea.
India produces 25,000 tonnes, the majority of which, around 20,000 tonnes, is exported. The world demand of VS is around 35,000 tonnes. Besides India
