Voltas has soared 3% on the back of a 50% surge in net profit.
The stock opened at Rs 156 and touched a high of Rs 158. The scrip is now trading at Rs 158, up 3% from the previous close. The counter has clocked volumes of 59,664 shares on the BSE.
Voltas, the Tata Group's air conditioning and enginerring services provider registered a 50% rise in net profit at Rs 92 crore.
Total income rose to Rs 1,114.17 crore in the latest quarter ended September, against Rs 999.31 crore in the same period last year.
On the standalone basis, the company has reported a net profit of Rs 80.6 crore in the July-September quarter, up 30% from Rs 62.1 crore in the same quarter corresponding year.
