Weakness continues; Satyam plunges 8%

The Sensex is now down 102 points at 9,584. The NSE Nifty is down 36 points at 2,933.

Satyam Computer has slumped 7.7% to Rs 130. Tata Motors has plunged 7% to Rs 163. DLF has slipped 3.6% to Rs 291.

Jaiprakash Associates and ITC have declined 3.3% each to Rs 76 and Rs 172, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Steel and Reliance Communication have dropped 2.9% each at Rs 572, Rs 215 and Rs 210, respectively.

TCS has declined 2.4% to Rs 488. Mahindra and Mahindra is down 1.9% to Rs 285.

Wipro has gained 2.1% to Rs 248. Ranbaxy has moved up over 2% to Rs 218.

State Bank of India is up 1.4% to Rs 1,281 while ICICI Bank has advanced 1.1% to Rs 431.

BHEL has added 1% to Rs 1,379.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,312 stocks traded so far, 1,443 have declined, 790 have advanced and 79 are unchanged.
