Dry Fruits: Weakening trend developed in the wholesale dry fruits market during the past week as select dry fruits led by almond and kishmish dropped on considerable fall in demand at existing higher levels influenced by lower advices from producing region.  

Traders said fall in demand at existing high levels amid weakening trend in producing region mainly pulled down select wholesale dry fruits prices.

In the national capital, almond (California) plunged by Rs 500 to Rs 9,800 per 40 kg. Its kernel fell by Rs 16 to Rs 345-350 per kg. Kishmish Indian green tumbled by Rs 500 to Rs 5,500-7,500 per 40 kg.

Chilgoza (roasted) declined by Rs 150 to Rs 1,500-1,600 per kg. Cashew kernel No 180 and No 240 were down by Rs 15 and Rs 10 to Rs 640-650 and Rs 530-540 per kg, respectively.

In line with a general weakening trend, pistachio Irani and Hairati traded lower to Rs 800-825 and Rs 1,025-1,150, against last close of Rs 800-850 and Rs 1,050-1,075 per kg, respectively.  

Pistachio dodi (roasted) too shed Rs 20 to Rs 530-615 per kg.
