Wipro is trading higher by 4% at Rs 419 after reporting a 10.4% year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,456 crore for the quarter ended December 31,2011 (Q3) against Rs 1,319 crore in year ago quarter.
The consolidated revenue grew 28% at Rs 9,997 crore in Q3 on y-o-y basis, India's third-largest software services exporter said in a filing to the stock exchanges.
"We continue to execute on our strategy and propel the business towards a higher growth trajectory. The overall macroeconomic sentiments continue to be uncertain and we are monitoring it closely," said Wipro's chairman, Azim Premji, in a statement. The company has announced an interim dividend of Rs 2 per share/ADS.
A combined 250,000 shares have changed hands on the counter in opening deals on both the exchanges.
