Zinc prices edged higher by 0.19% to Rs 105.45 per kg in futures trading today largely in tandem with a firming trend at the spot markets on rising demand even as metal eased in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May zinc traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 105.45 per kg, with a business turnover of 622 lots.
The June delivery also edged up by similar margin to Rs 105.80 per kg in a turnover of 199 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to a firming trend at spot markets on the back of industrial demand but weakness in metal at the London Metal Exchange, capped the gains.
