Sunday morning saw the city's bikers from over 23 biker clubs ride out on the Mumbai leg of India Bike Week's legendary Chai & Pakoda Breakfast Run. This ride marked the first event of the Festival's 2016 social calendar. Mumbai's Chai & Pakoda ride is the beginning of an All India biking journey leading to the monster festival that is IBW 2016 in Goa on the 19th and 20th of February, 2016.

This year, safety was the key theme, and the starting point featured the registered bikers inducted through a 'safety riding' session by the DCP of Vashi, Mr. Arvind Salve who also flagged off the event. Post the inauguration, the bikers took to the road in packs of 30, each led by an IBW Marshal. The Marshals featured as pack leaders patrolling and guiding the stream of speed machines, maintaining a synchronized proximity between each riding group. Medical support was also provided as the IBW team set up a tailing Ambulance service for the ride.
This Sunday's breakfast ride brought together the whole brotherhood of biking enthusiasts - from dedicated aficionados riding heavy-duty Harleys and Triumphs, to the more casual riders on their Pulsars and Yamahas. Riders gathered at Vashi's Centre One Mall at 7AM, before setting off on the 76km ride to Sheetal Dhabha via the old Mumbai-Pune highway.

On their arrival at the stopover destination, the bikers were greeted with a breakfast buffet that has become such a feature of India Bike Week's hundreds of Rides. At the venue, the IBW team organized amazing contests like Best Dressed Rider, Youngest Rider, Coolest Bike, Best Rider Etiquette and finally the Farthest Traveled Rider. Winners received exclusive Wrangler branded biking gear to mark the occasion. The session ended with a special performance by musician, Bianca Love, who concluded this biking session with the cheer from hundreds of happy bikers.
