Mercedes-Benz will be launching the B-Class facelift and there is a surprise element as the company will also be adding the A200 CDI to its portfolio from tomorrow. So, one can expect the A-Class to also be introduced from tomorrow. The A-Class gets a more powerful engine in the form of A200 CDI instead of the A180 CDI, but it also gets an updated COMAND system too. The diesel now gets panoramic sun-roof as standard.

Both the A-Class and B-Class get the 200 CDI engine, which is a 2.2-litre producing about 140bhp of power, rather than the 108bhp. This comes mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

The easiest way to recognise a facelifted B-Class is from the front: a new bumper, wide radiator trim with two louvres and now integral daytime running lamps in the headlamps give the vehicle a more organic and dynamic appearance. The rear bumper has likewise been modified and now features a contoured covering and chrome trim strip. Mercedes-Benz has now given a new large free standing, frameless head unit display, which is now optionally available with a larger eight-inch diagonal. nother highlight is the new three-spoke steering wheel generation in different variants, including a multifunction sports steering wheel with flattened bottom section. Recently unveiled in the new C-Class, automatic front-passenger airbag deactivation is now optionally available also for the B-Class. A pressure sensor in the seat cushion allows the system to recognise whether the front passenger seat is occupied or if a baby seat or child seat has been fitted there.
