Tata's new Kite twins will be launched around the festive season this year and recently we had got the interior images of this new hatchback. The Kite petrol will be the 1.2-litre petrol engine, however this won't be turbocharged, but it shall be naturally aspirated. This is the same engine that powers the Zest and the Bolt, however there will be no turbocharger on them.
The 1.2-litre petrol engine on the Kite will produce about 65-75bhp of power and about 95Nm of torque. This way, Tata Motors will be able to use the same Revotron engine series and at the same time even reduce the cost for its Indica eV2 and Indigo eCS replacement. There is clarity on whether these new cars will get multi-drive, as that will increase the cost.
The Tata Kite twins will be powered by this engine and the diesel engine will be the 1.05-litre CR4 engine, which is the three-cylinder version of the existing 1.4-litre CR4 that already powers the Indica eV2 and the Indigo eCS. This engine will produce about 63bhp of power. Supposedly, the diesel engine is likely to have a fuel efficiency between 27-30km/l. With no turbocharger, the cost of the petrol engine comes down and this is when it will be priced below the new diesel engine. If you have missed out on our previous post, we have shared the interior shot of the Tata Kite. It does resemble the Zest and Bolt styling to a good extent and will even get voice command and electrically adjustable wing mirrors.
